Opening ceremony for EU funded “Visibility and Communication for actions related to AA/DCFTA* Implementation in the Framework of the EU funded Assistance Programmes” was held on November 7, 2017.
Ms. Cecilia Malmström, European Union Commissioner for Trade, presented with welcoming remarks for the Opening Ceremony of the project, which took place during her visit to the Republic of Moldova.
From the Moldovan side, Deputy Prime-Minister Mr. Octavian Calmîc attended the event, as the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure is the main beneficiary institution of this technical assistance project which has a budget of €1.9 million and three main components that are expected to be focused during the implementation phase; full implementation, full participation and public awareness. One of the initial activities of the project will be a national opinion survey and in-depth regional research to understand precisely what information is required by different groups and businesses about DCFTA and what assistance is needed to help them benefit of these opportunities.
(*) The Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) is an arrangement between the EU and the Republic of Moldova that foresees a preferential trade relationship, based on mutually advantageous treatment, giving to each other better access to their markets than that offered to other trade partners.
